Dresses for Zimbabwe

Posted by DAG West Texas - Ingrid Simmons on January 10, 2012 at 6:35 PM

Dress A Girl - West Texas is now sewing and collecting dresses for Zimbabwe.  The dresses will be going to the Karanda Medical Hospital via Dr. Greg Miller and his wife and children.  Some dresses will go on a cargo leaving a Texas or Louisiana port the end of February and the remainder will go with the Millers the end of June.

If you would like to help us with this mission trip, I would love to have your dresses.  Please make your pillowcase dresses 24-26" long (most of the girls at Karanda are 5-10 years old).

We are also collecting underwear for both boys and girls and you can find how to do that by visiting Walmart.com, Registry, Wish List, type in Ingrid Simmons.  That will take you to the shopping list for Underwear.  Walmart will then ship the product directly to me and I will add your donation to our Dresses to Zimbabwe.  Walmart does not tell me who the purchaser is, so if you'll please message me on Facebook, DAG West Texas, or on this blog to tell me you've bought Undies, I would be most grateful.

We are also collecting boys britches if you'd rather make those.  You can find a tutorial on how to make these britches out of t-shirts here on the DAG website.

Thanking you in advance for any donations you wish to send to Zimbabwe.  This country, like many African countries has been ravaged by HIV/AIDS and left so many children orphaned.  Thank you!
