I heard your story from KLove and just has to visit the site and tell you what a beautiful ministry you have. I have always loved fashion but decided to let go of that dream because I feel it might lead me to consumerism instead of helping people. I'm still learning to sew but I do know how to knit and crochet. I think I'll be able to help out this way.
Our church is having a women's retreat and I can't attend, but I got the pattern from Rachel and have 14 little dresses ready to mail in. My son and daughter in law are moving and gave me a stack of bed linens which I was able to use some for the project. The elastic and trim came from boxes of left overs from years of sewing for my girls. What a joy to be able to help make a child feel better!
Hi I think this is a beautiful concept. God Bless all of those that have made it happen to many girls. Amen I am a Missionary, and once on the field, you Pray God give me wisdom, help me to help others to live. Hi. We were recently contacted by a church group that bought pillowcases from us to make pillowcases for donation to this organization. Here is a link that shows dresses they are making: http://www.pillowcase.net/p-26-pillowcase-dresses.aspx . We have a large variety if pillowcases in bulk. We have second quality colored pillowcases that were used to make these dresses.
I love these ideas and the ability to do something for others. Will share this idea with my daughter, Ashlee, 14 who loves helping those in need! Thank you all!
