I still love watching this video clip and I get tears ... this is when I realized I wanted to not only experience the fun these ladies were having, but to share the joy with others.
What I have found is the joy of fellowship around the tables, the ironing boards, and cutting tables. This is what women did in the past ... sharing and encouraging one another.
Invite your friends, neighbors, church friends to join you around your table and experience the blessing of making these dresses
Wow! Looks like you had a lot of fun. It warms my heart to see your passion at work.
The ladies at my church had plans to make pillowcases for shelters, etc. I thought they were talking about this. They liked what I said and want to help, too. This will be our next project.
Forgot to tell you ... I wish I had music to my Sew Fest pictures ... how fun is that addition ... something else I need to learn with this computer stuff!
Wendy ... I never told you how watching this just really blessed my heart and realized "I CAN DO THIS!" and that started the amazing fun we have had this month .... I loved seeing ladies of different ages ... coming together to iron, cut, sew love into these little dresses knowing that some little girl somewhere would be blessed by our actions.
This whole thing has just caught my heart ... and as God gives us a vision, we can share it with others and that's what has happened ... with you and Rachel and now trickling down into other lives ... So our journey began ... and now at the end of March, I believe we have in excess of 120 dresses ... all done in love and prayer. God bless you and all the ladies (and men) who have opened their hearts ... some men have ironed (that would be the day my hubby irons!) but bless his heart - he allowed me to buy and buy and buy cases, sheets, tablecloths, valances and he's hiding some of his shirts so I won't use them!
"Well done, good and faithful servants" I hear God telling us all.
Sidney and Wendy, you ladies have completely inspired me to inspire others to join in the fun of creating pillow case dresses for the girls. I had the pleasure and opportunity to participate in a Sew Fest at Sidney's home on Sunday. I have been sewing every day since. I am so excited to get others involved and make a difference for all these beautiful girls. Thanks for sharing and being such an inspiration to so many.
