Dress a Girl Around the World

Imagine a  world where every little girl owned at least one dress

Flo's Guide to Making God's Best Dress

Flo Says: Remember this dress may be the only dress I ever receive! Please make it sturdy and good quality. We love your enthusiasm and creativity and in no way want to curb that but please follow our Quality Control Guidelines:

Pillowcase Dresses:

 1) We ask that you make them from new pillowcases or fabric. We've received too many worn, stained or "pilly" dresses and don't feel these are giving God's best.

2) Fabric and pillowcases should be sturdy cotton--not see through as we are trying to bring dignity. If you can see the outline of your hand through the fabric--it is too thin!

Karen Says:
When I was little my Mom made me a pillowcase style dress with bias tape ties. I was wrestling around with my friend on my bunk bed. As I fell over the side of the bed one of my ties went over the bedpost and saved me.... my mom came quickly to rescue me. This is what crosses my mind when dresses pass through my studio. Many ties (though incredibly cute) I fear would just tear off. Ties should be as sturdy as the dress.

Pockets:
We LOVE pockets and like to put our hands in our pockets or carry treasures, rocks, etc. so we recommend sturdy pockets--if the fabric warrants it double layer pockets.
