Plan where to hold your event.
Do you want a small group of friends in your home?
Do you want to hold it at your church, club or school and invite a large group?
Invite your friends, colleagues, club or church members.
Ask them to bring pillowcases (not thin) and/or sturdy cotton fabric, trim, double wide bias tape, elastic, sewing machines, irons and ironing boards.

Help Dress a Girl by asking about Kohl's Cares for Kids' program. We are not partners but they have a great program and many stores have sent employees to our events and Dress a Girl then received grants which helps this program continue. See their program at www.kohls.com/cares
On the Day of the Event!
Set up tables, have power cords available for sewing machines. Have one or more irons and ironing boards (depending upon the size of your group) Set up stations for cutting the pillowcases/fabric, elastic, trim, etc. (non-sewers can do this and match up trim, pockets, etc for the sewers. Non-sewers can also pin the bias tape and pockets on for the sewers.
Hang already made quality dress examples, photos of girls wearing our dresses--you can find many photos in our gallery!
