Dress a Girl Around the World

So many of you have gotten creative with the pillowcase dress patterns. We LOVE your creativity and some of you have sent us some REALLY cute t-shirt/pillowcase dresses. I'm giving a pattern for one here--This is for a teenage girl in India ( the girls are required to wear ankle length dresses so for this purpose I used a full pillowcase. For smaller girls you can use 1/2 to 3/4 of a pillowcase and use the rest for headbands, etc.

Choose a Pillowcase & T-Shirt

Cut off closed end of pillowcase--2" if you want to make a matching headband 

Sew Gathering stitches around the new raw edge

With Right Sides Together Pin the gathered skirt to the bottom of the t-shirt  evenly adjusting gathers as you pin--Sew 

Press the seam up toward the t-shirt top

Sew around the top of the seam. When you turn the dress Right Side Out it will have the appearance of the t-shirt fitted to the outside of the skirt.
