About Me

I am a servant/leader in the women's ministry at my church.  I enjoy the opportunity to help those in need using the abilities and desires the Lord has given me.  My role in life seems to be on the cusp of something new and I am anxiously waiting to see what that is.  I will be going on my first mission trip this summer to Zambia.  I am a wife, mother, daughter, friend, secretary, bookkeeper, singer and sewer.

After reading the story put out by Women of Faith about the wonderful ministry of dressing girls around the world, I started talking with a few friends about getting involved. This has led to holding our first sewing party day in February at our church. We have had such a great response that we are holding our third in a couple weeks. We have many dresses in various stages of being done and hope to send of our first group within a month. As excited as the ladies have been about this opportunity, I see it continuing on for quite some time.

I learned about the effort through a friend and have been sewing dresses for a few weeks now. I have completed twenty-five simple sundresses in various sizes and will ship them when I have a bin full. I have collected fabrics for many years and am happy to be using my "stash" in such a cause while enjoying the sewing.

About Me

Hi!  My name is Cherice Taylor...a native of Chicago.  I'm a wife and mother of 4 beautiful girls whom I love to sew for.  I operate a small home business teaching young girls and women to sew.  Sharing my love for sewing is very fulfulling and hope to teach full-time one day. When I learned about Dress A Girl Around the World I immediately wanted to get involved.

I plan to teach my students how to make the pillowcase dresses and get them involved in this wonderful organization by sharing their talents.

About Me

I am a teacher with the Tasmanian eSchool. I am a Textiles trained teacher and enjoy sewing in my own time, as well as teaching our students how to sew and be creative.

Tell us about you and how you are involved or wanting to get involved in Dress a Girl

I am currently teaching at the Tasmanian eSchool. Our students are located all around Tasmania and do not attend their local schools for many different reasons. We run a fortnightly group for some of our female students to meet, socialise and be involved in various citizenship projects. We are hoping that one of our citizenship projects this year can be Dress a Girl Around the World. Our girls have been creating some small projects using sewing machines and now have the skills and knowledge needed to take on this project. We are hoping our girls can learn a lot about the lives of other girls around the world through participating in this project.
