About Me

I am a retired Christian woman looking to serve Jesus and bless some precious children with my newly learned sewing skills.

I am leading an effort through Baycities Community Church in Lomita, CA to not only sew dresses for girls, but also to teach our young girls to sew and how to serve Jesus by loving others. We had our first event last June and 26 seamstresses (beginning & experienced) made 50 dresses that were delivered to Bombo, Uganda through Align Ministries. We plan on continuing to sew not only dresses, but also shorts for the boys at the Donello Schools in Uganda as well.

About Me

I live in Brentwood California. I have six Grandchildren and sew with and for them but there is no greater joy than to make a dress for a girl that may not otherwise have one. Two of my Grandgirls have helped sew the dresses as well and are equally as blessed as I am. I pray for the girl to receive the dress as I sew it, for protection and joy but most of all to feel the love that went into it. I hope this ministry continues to grow to the far ends of the earth.

Right now I am making dresses with a couple of friends and we are distributing with Pastors and Churches going to Haiti. I am just excited to see where God leads me and this exciting service in the future.

About Me

I am a professional Santa Claus with 10 years exeperience. I started sewing so I could make bed accessories for the doll beds I was making. The sewing became more fun after taking courses at Jo Ann's. I saw an article in the local paper about a lady making dresses for Africa. That got me interested. One day buying bias tape at Jo Ann's I met Lisa Kreiner and she told me about your organization.. My dress making has gone from simple dresses to dresses with a burrito roll hem and making my own bias tape. My next challange is a t-shirt dress. I have made seventeen dresses so for. I have been diagnosed COPD/Emphasyma and have had to stop woodworking. I am blessed that God has given me this gift. I call myself Mustang Santa because I drive a bright red Mustang for my sled and  my tags are MYRDSLD.

HO-HO-HO and Merry Christmas to all!

About Me

My hearts desire is to follow the Lord's leading, and I am so glad He has led me to DAG to help sew dresses for young ladies all over the world. I am retired from my long-time job, and work part-time to support my sewing habit. My little girl helper loves to check over the dresses I sew, but she does not appreciate any hat modeling. My hubby is very supportive of my sewing, and does all that he can to help me out (dishes, laundry, cleaning, etc...) so I can devote more time to sewing.

About Me

I help coordinate the Dress A Girl Around the World ministry at our church, Christ Our King Anglican Church, in New Braunfels, Texas.  We kicked off our first workshop on February 14, 2015.  As a part of this ministry some of the more experienced seamstresses in the church are helping to teach young girls and their moms how to sew, using the instructions for the Dress A Girl pillowcase style dresses.  This is resulting in a two fold blessing - learning how to sew and blessing girls with new dresses around the world!  Our church is very mission oriented and we send missionaries to other countries regularly, so hand carrying the dresses is easy to do. We see this as an ongoing ministry for many years to come.

About Me

I am so happy to be part of Dress A Girl Around the World (DOG).  I have loved to sew since I was a child and was so happy for the introduction to DOG - giving me an outlet for my sewing and a way to help others.

Tell us about you and how you are involved or wanting to get involved in Dress a Girl

I learned about DOG this summer, and had the best time making dresses for girls in need. The 1010dresses I made were donated to OSSO (an organization that helps orphans). I'm so happy I could be part of such a wonderful organization. I pray for the little girls that receive the dresses - that they will feel the love from others far away who care about their welfare.
