The DAG-STL of Vandover Bapt shipped 30 dresses, 3 pair shorts & 15 fleeve blankets to the LOWO - Lakota Childrens Group, on 4/5/13. We've decided this group will be our mission for us this year. Also, sent 36 dresses to Haiti for our missionary there.

I would love a packet! I am trying to figure out where to begin! My Church is first and I though I would contact my local extension office to see about 4-H Kids maybe using it as a project and then donating them!

Rachel-quick question-I am a member, and love this great cause. I was looking at the JoAnn website and they do have a VIP Discount card. One of the groups that qualify for this VIP card is the "professional sewing or craft organization" Would Dress A Girl Around the Girl members be able to take advantage of this? See the link

I know that Hope 4 International is a not for proift-but that is for the actual members of that organization, so I wanted to check in with you to see if you have any other inquiries regarding a VIP discount card for members of a sewing organization and if Dress a Girl Around the World members woud quality?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Take Care

Just a thought. It would be neat if the website had an interactive world map that you could scroll over with pop-ups of places where the Dress a Girl Dress have been given out, by whom, how many, year given etc. Could be a really interesting visual.

Hello Rachel. Do you still have any of the pink and blue shirts. I would like one in a XL if you do. Thanks.

Hi rachel, hope you liked the magazine. I have more dresses to send this week but i am first trying to make little dolls for the pockets. I am trying something new so hopefully they will look cute and if so i will send on instructions with the dresses.

Hi Rachel,

I am excited to say that my church (Evangelical Covenant-Northbrook, IL) will be part of the Dress a Girl Around the World project! Our goal is to make 200 dresses by September 2011. The dresses will be presented at our Women Ministries Fall Fellowship in Lake Geneva. Other Covenant Churches are also participating. We are announcing the project this Sunday, Mother's Day. Our first sewing night will be Thur., Sept. 19. I have been overwhelmed by the donations that are coming in. Originally I had set a goal of 75, but with all the donations I increased the goal to 200. The donations thus far have all come from outside my church family (we have not announced the project yet). Praise God! I can't wait to see the creative process! Is it OK to use your Dress A Girl 2 video for our presentation Sunday?

I've been sewing up a storm and have a dozen dresses to send. I noticed most of the dresses have pockets (which I didn't make since they tear off easily) and most of the little girls have on t-shirts under the dresses. Do they also need t-shirts? Since there is no rep in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where do I send the dresses?

I think I could get a few groups together locally for a great cause like this. What would I need to do?

Do you have complete information for purchasing the badge designed by the Girl Scouts? In a previous post you said to contact Cathy at Cathy@colomail.com. I believe I read that the badges were $2.50 each. Is there an order form? An address as to where to send a check? A telephone contact number? Any additional information would be appreciated. You may contact me at mllasalle@aol.com . Thanks.

Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I'm hoping to be able to send a full box to Uganda this summer. We may even hold a workshop to teach our teens to sew. Another church member suggested an orphanage in Mexico for a summer mission trip. Will keep you posted!

Thank you for your positive comment. I have more experimental dresses, too. I'll be joining other Southern California Red Hat Society members on March 12 for a Sew 'n' Sew party, and I want to be prepared.
