Dress a Girl Around the World

About Me

I am a grandmother of three girls and have led a blessed life.  I would very much like to participate in this wonderful program for girls and women around the world.  I hope to encourage my friends to join me in forming a group so we can get started on this very worthwhile project.  I'm not much of a seamstress, but I guess it's never too late to learn.

I will be posting an excert from the Joy Journal at Northwest Assistant Ministries here in Houston. The Houston Chronicle will be at NAM tomorrow to take photos of Helping Hands members as they make pillowcase dresses for Dress A Girl Around The World. I want to thank my mom, Lorrainne Drewes, for enlisting thee volunteers.

We are "sew" excited to announce our sew date of
March 27. So far, we have collected almost 100 pillowcases and quite a bit of trim, elastic, and yarn. Volunteers are adding up and we feel our initial sew date will be a huge success with a goal of 150 dresses. Thanks to all who are volunteering their time and materials.
