Dress a Girl Around the World

About Me

I am the mother of 8 children (6 of them girls) and the grandmother of 18 soon to be 19 grandchildren.

I learned to sew in 4-H many years ago and love to use my talents to help others.  I also crochet, quilt and do all kinds of crafts.

I love to work with children and teach an 10 and 11 year old class at church on Sundays.  I have also worked with a gourp of 8-11 year old girls twice a month for the past 5 years, but turned that over to someone younger recently.  I love to read and am involved with our Friends of the Library group.

I saw the needs first hand while visiting in South Africa in the summer of 2008.

I need to contact Claudia of the Appalachian project as I have 70 dresses and 9 pair of pants to send to her. The only address I have is a POBox and I can not send Fed Ex to a PO and that will be much less expensive for me. She can contact me by email at kayincolorad@yahoo.com.

I am so excited that so many people are willing to help sew. We have completed our first 50 dresses and are heading for a goal of 100.
