About Me

I've been making dresses for Dress a Girl since the fall of 2009 through a sewing bee in Roseville, CA.  I started a monthly sewing bee with the El Dorado Hills Library in December 2010 that meets on the first Saturday of every month.

My daughter, Olivia, and I delivered 140 dresses to ophanages and a public school in Belize in April 2011.

I'm relocating to Wisconsin in June 2011 and will launch another sewing bee if I can't find one in my new area.

Too funny! Yes, it is a small world!!! I've met Sharon. She was able to attend one of the sewing events I put together in El Dorado Hills before I moved to WI. I'm now living in the tiny town I grew-up in, population a little over 4,000. It seems like every time I turn around in the Piggly Wiggly I meet someone I either know or know of through other friends and relatives!

Happy Sewing!!!

Therese-What a small world! You sent an email to my friend and colleague Devon last evneing telling her about Dress A Girl. Devon is the one who got me back into sewing (Devon does not sew but is a great coordinator of events and we did the Liittle Dresses for Africa. You corresponded with me when I first joined DAGAW and you had just moved from El Dorado Hills back home to WI. I live in the Bay Area and am sewing some dresses to send to Sharon Miranda the NOR CAL Rep. Devon came into work this morning and told me she got an email from Dress A Girl -from somone n WI-I knew immediatley it had to be you! Devon knows I am now part of Dress A Girl and does support my efforts! She has a huge heart and is always helping someone somewhere! Take Care!

I just created a Facebook Page for the Wisconsin Chapter of Dress a Girl Around the Word. This is a great opportunity to get the word out about DAG to fellow Cheese Heads to get them motivated to start forming sewing bees! Please post any pictures of your local WI events, introduce yourselves, invite friends, share tips/tricks, etc!

Therese, I LOVE the idea about an interactive map--do you know how to make one?

Welcome to Wisconsin. There are a bunch of rouge groups making these dresses. A few make them with the dress a girl tags on them. If you decide to have an event --invite me. I live north of Green Bay but have a car and can travel. :)
