About Me

Found this website and fell in love with what is being done. I began to sew at five years old and am excited about helping to dress a girl. I'll make them until you tell me to stop!

We are blessed as we only had the minor inconvenience of having my son (who was evacuated but able later to go back to his place) and others stay with us for a couple of days and lots of awful smoke. Being involved with the whole fire episode changed my thinking a whole lot. Family and friends are on the top of the list and the other "stuff" is at the bottom.

Lartricia and I are sending our last shipment together today. We are parting ways because of job transfers and such. I am soooo grateful I asked her 2 years ago to get involved with DAG for she is a great seamstress! We've both been blessed in working with this project...coworkers helped so much with materials and $ for shipping. Although we will not be working together we both will continue to sew for DAG. I can't wait to get my machine up and running again! Blessings to all who sew -- or donate, or cheer for the sewers, or pack/unpack boxes, or iron labels, and fabric, or deliver the dresses to the girls, or whatever you do -- to make a little girl's life just a little better. Thanks/blessings to RACHEL for starting this organization! Love, Shelly

Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 -- Lartricia and I mailed 20 dresses yesterday. A small shipment but a mailing just the same. We are both so thrilled to be a part of this organization. My 2nd bedroom looks like the "Fabric Fairy" has been to town! Every piece has a purpose! Can't wait to get started again after the 1st of the year. PEACE AND BLESSINGS to all of you who participate in this WONDERFUL program....AND BLESS the children who receive our work. Merry Christmas!

Shelly your dresses are so nice, and neatly done! I love the different variations and styles that you created. What a treat for each little girl that receives one of them. I know you will enjoy being part of DAG as I and many others do! Keep up the beautiful work.

Good to hear from you Rochelle. I haven't started sewing as yet but, I intend to. How is your job going and how do you like living in Lenexa? Guess you heard I was laid off - still looking after 8 weeks. Talk to you soon.
