It's now the end of January and my sewing machine is still at the repair shop. No sewing for 3 months!! I have had to make some hard decisions and have concluded I want my old machine back rather than buy a new one, so I must wait.
(You must think I have stopped sewing or no longer am making dresses for DAG....) No; it is all about the machine. I am going to get one on loan as this has gone on for too long.
The salvage/surplus store I go to in Maine had a new supply of fabrics on Saturday from a small quilting store that recently went out of business. What fun I had choosing some new fabrics; now to get them ready for sewing.

Wonderful! Your last 2 albums have been inspiring. You have been busy, to say the least. Wonderful dresses, jumpers, hats. What is the need for warm clothing? I am going to assume that since I only make a few dresses at a time that if I sewed some fleece items, they would find a destination. (Since it is so fun to sew with fleece, and I had been pinning some fleece patterns of late.) Would any other pieces, like mittens be appropriate to send along? I want to stick to the items that Dress a Girll wants to use. I am not clear how you sort and organize the donations so do not want to send "stray" items. You mentioned turtlenecks and tights along with the fleece. Are they matched with the dresses when you sent them? Thanks, Carol, for sharing your photos.

Thank you, Carol. I'm excited to know that my dresses are off on their journey and am so happy to be making more.
